Workforce Readiness

RWHRMA is committed to working cooperatively with businesses, educators and community and governmental organizations to promote workforce readiness initiatives and solutions. The focus includes helping the current and future workforce to possess the skills necessary to meet employer demands.  As HR professionals, it is important that we take a lead in creating these partnerships to prepare our citizens for entry or re-entry into the workforce.  Our current efforts include:

Dress for Success – Triangle is in need of volunteers for several of their services including Career and Image Coaches at their Durham and Raleigh locations.  Image Coaches help women with choosing professional attire for interviews/employment and Career Coaches help women with resume writing as well as developing interview skills.  Coaches typically volunteer for a 3 hour shift once a week, twice a month or once a month during the following hours:

Raleigh: Tues & Wed, 9am-4pm, Thurs 12:30pm-4pm, 2nd Sat. of the month 9am-4pm

Durham: Tues & Thurs, 10am-4pm, Wed, 10am-1pm, 3rd Sat. of the month 10am-4pm.

If you cannot commit to a set schedule of coaching, there are other areas to help with as well:

· Assist with mock interviewing/coaching through the Going Places Network Program

· Help prepare for and work at one of their sale days (approximately 5 times a year).

· Volunteer in the warehouse to help with sorting, tagging, and organizing donations

 The next volunteer training/orientation is scheduled for August 6th, 10am – 12:30pm or August 23rd, 10am – 11:30pm.

Please contact Catherine Bullock if you are interested in learning more about these volunteer opportunities.
