Guide to Online Schools:

Provides free, manually-researched information covering over 22,000 online degree programs from over 600 accredited schools. They provide a comprehensive list of accredited online colleges and universities which includes detailed degree and tuition information. We also compile student review data to calculate a recommendation rate for each school so that prospective students can learn from the insights of other students. Additionally, users can select colleges to compare side by side, looking at factors such as affordability, recommendation rate, and more, here:



Aimed at refocusing the higher education conversation around affordability and increasing the ease of accessibility to important information about online colleges. Thorough research has gone into the metrics of cost and quality of online colleges across the country to provide over 65 subject-specific affordability rankings, including program-specific tuition rates, which you can see here:

Online Degree Program Resources
As you know, an increasing number of students are looking at online degree programs. However, earning a degree online is a different experience than a campus-based program. This is why we've made it our mission at to research and provide an accurate resource on online learning in North Carolina, going so far as to collect our own school-level data that's more accurate than the National Center for Education Statistics' IPEDS database.

Our comprehensive resource includes:

  • A curated list of scholarships available to North Carolina students, along with a database of nearly 20,000 general scholarships
  • Stats and figures on the state of distance learning in North Carolina
  • A database of all distance learning programs in the state as well as a ranking of the most affordable colleges

Retirement Resources

Most people working through this recent economic recovery period face a plethora of financial obligations from the previous years of hardship. So it is understandable why they have a list of excuses for putting off saving for retirement: their paychecks are too small, they don’t know how long they’ll stay with a company, or why worry now about something that feels a million years away? But one of the root causes is the lack of information and fear of the unfamiliar. This prevents many from making a plan simply because they don’t know how to approach retirement planning or how to take the first step. For this reason, my team of researchers have developed a guide that will help inform those interested with in depth knowledge about all the different retirement savings accounts along with tax benefits and strategies to help establish a solid financial foundation for their future.

How Culture and Collaboration Can Increase

Employee Engagement

Disengaged employees are one of the top reasons why businesses fail, why office culture becomes toxic, why companies lose their competitive edge and why many startups’ become apathetic and prone to failure. 

Not only do disengaged employees negatively affect the workplace, but they will cost companies more than $2,000 per employee per year. A survey by the State of the American Workplace shows that about 70 percent of American workers say they feel fully disengaged from the workplace. It’s a problem across industries and sectors.

Traffic Alert!

In January 2015, the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Fortify I-40/440 Rebuild Project entered Phase II (Projected Timeline: January 2015 through December 2016). During this Phase, NCDOT construction engineers are reducing traffic to three lanes over an 8.5--mile stretch of I-40 in Wake County. To help reduce the traffic impact, NCDOT is asking drivers and local employers to help get 30,000 vehicles off the road in the work zone during peak commute times.  As a public service to our members and our communities, we are providing resources to assist you and your employer in managing  this transportation disruption.
