RMSHRM February 2020 Monthly WEBINAR:The ADA Reasonable Accommodation: What does reasonable mean?

Cost: $28 for members & $33 for non members

Program Information:

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the American’s with Disabilities Act into law. Since that time, thousands of charges of discrimination have been filed with EEOC and an equal number of lawsuits have been filed in the court. In America, there are 49.8 million people with one or more disabilities. HR Dive indicates that in 2018, unemployment for persons with disability fell to 8%. This is more than 3.2% US unemployment rate. In 2018, 31% of workers with a disability were employed part time, compared with 17% of those with no disability. People with a disability were more likely to be self-employed than those without a disability.  It is worthy to explore if providing reasonable accommodations is the reason for the drop in unemployment rates for persons with disabilities.
