WHO: Chris Shoffner - The White Bear Group
After graduating from N.C. State University, Mr. Shoffner has spent his entire seventeen year professional career working with employers on wealth preservation and employee benefit strategies. For the last seven years, he has been focused specifically on flexible compensation and healthcare issues. Currently, Mr. Shoffner is certified in Flexible Compensation Instruction by the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation; a trade association that coordinates and comments with the IRS on healthcare related tax issues. As a lead instructor for the National Association of Health Underwriters, Mr. Shoffner has traveled the country teaching brokers about new and more effective ways to manage health plans and currently holds the National Association of Securities Dealers series 7, 63, 65 and 24 designations. Mr. Shoffner has conducted more than 200 educational sessions for CPAs, Insurance Professionals and Attorney’s across the US on health care related tax code. In his previous role as Board Member of the N.C. Council on Economic Education (11 years), he has been active in the integration of economic principles and financial literacy concepts in the public school system.

Mr. Shoffner's presentation will: 1) explain two methods to identify chronically ill (biometrics and financial identification) 2) define three types of spending accounts (HRAs, FSAs, and HSAs) 3) explain two key cost drivers 4) present renewal related actions.
