What a privilege … to be a volunteer leader with RWHRMA. January allowed me to have literally hundreds of contacts [phone conversations, face to face meetings and electronic exchanges] with prospective members, new members, committee volunteers and board members, and I have been impressed with the quality of each contact. In every case, the individual or group was advising of action or seeking direction and/or information on how to achieve desired outcomes in their particular situation – personal, professional or volunteer role. While many of our volunteers are experienced – others are new to chapter roles/responsibilities. I can say without question, “I am impressed with the level of commitment demonstrated by each HR professional” as I’ve interacted with you! Thanks for what you are doing – and what you will do – on behalf of the chapter and the profession in 2010!
What an honor … to belong to RWHRMA where members value their affiliation with the chapter. Here are some overall results from the membership engagement survey I mentioned last month:
- 84% of us are proud to be members of RWHRMA
- 87% of us recommend RWHRMA as a great organization to join
- 93% of us are committed to RWHRMA as a professional organization
- 81% of us are satisfied with our membership in RWHRMA
- 81% of us say membership in RWHRMA is valuable to us
While the results are overwhelmingly positive, there are opportunities for improvement in both programming and membership services. I’ll provide overall results in these two areas next month, but know that program and membership area leaders have the detailed results of the survey – and are working to increase value to you in 2010. Further analysis of this first-ever engagement survey is being done based on demographics (years of membership and organizational level) to glean more actionable data. More to come!
How gratifying … to belong to a chapter that serves its community in times of need. By the time the March newsletter is published (barring weather or other schedule busting event), the RWHRMA and TSHRM chapters will not only have received the first-ever, joint SHRM Pinnacle Award for our WRAL HR On Call event last year, but we will have completed “round 2” of this initiative on March 3.
Because of your willingness to serve others along with your professional integrity, you are having positive impact on the WakeCounty area. Keep up the outstanding work…and keep our members in transition on your mind, too. YOU may be the key link between them and their next job! Till next time…
